British actress Cheryl Hall was born on July 23, 1950, in London. She had recurrent roles as Sadie in The Bill and Shirley Johnson in the British sitcom Citizen Smith (1977–1979), for which she is best remembered (1984-1988).

She had one of her very first television appearances in the 1971 episode of On the Buses called “The Epidemic,” where she portrayed a clippie named Eileen.
Dear Mother…Love Albert, Hall played the screen girlfriend of Rodney Bewes. Carnival of Monsters, a Doctor Who story, featured her (1973).
At the 1997 general election, Hall ran as the Labour Party’s unsuccessful candidate for Canterbury.

She also served on the Kent County Council, where she briefly served as leader of the labor party.
