Champ Bailey Jr. (born June 22, 1978) is a retired American football cornerback who played in the National Football League (NFL).

He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs, where he was named consensus All-American, and was taken in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins.

Bailey was transferred to the Denver Broncos in 2004, where he spent 10 seasons before being released in early 2014, following the Broncos’ Super Bowl XLVIII loss.

Bailey was quickly signed by the New Orleans Saints, but he was released before the start of the regular season. Bailey announced his retirement from the NFL after 15 seasons in October 2014.

In his first year of eligibility, he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019. Bailey is largely regarded as “the top cornerback of his era” and one of the greatest cornerbacks in NFL history.
