Born on April 8, 1999, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Lamb played high school football at John and Randolph Foster High School in Richmond, Texas, where he caught 57 receptions for 1,082 yards and 11 touchdowns in his junior season.

Lamb got admission into the University of Oklahoma where he recorded a successful collegiate career as a wide receiver, and was named a consensus All-American.
