Andrew Cogliano signed a one-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche.

Cogliano had six points (three goals, three assists) in 16 Stanley Cup Playoff games to help the Avalanche win the Stanley Cup for the first time since 2001.

Andrew Cogliano was fourth on the team (second among forwards) with 2:07 of shorthanded ice time per game in the postseason, helping Colorado go 17-for-19 (89.5 percent) on the penalty kill during the Cup Final, when it defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games.

“Andrew was such a big part of our Stanley Cup championship with his leadership and veteran presence,” Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic said.

“He battled back from various injuries throughout the playoffs and played key minutes for us when we needed it the most.” according to Joe Sakic
