A 3-ounce serving of Alaskan salmon contains 20% or more of the Food and Nutrition Board’s recommended daily allowance of vitamin B-6, niacin, and vitamin B-12 for healthy adults eating a 2,000-calorie diet. All three of these vitamins are required for carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism.
