After a horrific discovery inside a home in a gated community near Irvine, police are investigating the possibility of a murder-suicide.

Officers were dispatched to 58 Riverboat for a welfare check at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to a press release from the Irvine Police Department.
Residents’ extended family members reported to Canadian authorities that they had been unable to contact them for over a year and were anxious. A welfare check was requested by Canadian officials who contacted Irvine Police.

The residence included a father, mother, and adult son.
“When responding officers entered the house, they discovered three severely decayed bodies inside, all of which seemed to be adults,” police added.
There were no traces of forced entry into the house, and the police department isn’t looking for any other suspects.
According to Irvine Police, there are some indicators that this was a domestic-related event that ended in a murder-suicide.
