Who Is Inaki Pena?

Iñaki Peña Sotorres is a professional soccer player, who plays as a goalkeeper for the La Liga club, Barcelona.

Born on March 2, 1999, in Bilbao, Spain,  Peña began his career in the academy of FC Barcelona, and made progress through the various age levels.

He also played on loan for Alicante and Villarreal from 2004 to 2012.

Peña made his debut for Barcelona B in 2018, in the reserve team of FC Barcelona that competes in the Spanish third division, as a goalkeeper.

In 2022, Pena recorded a win over Viktoria Plzeň in the UEFA Champions League.

In 2023, Peña’s contract with Barcelona was extended to expire in 2026, with an inclusive buyout clause of 400 million euros.

On the international front, Pena represented various Spanish national youth teams at the under-16, under-17, under-18, under-19 and under-21 levels, and earned 30 caps for Spain.

During the 2016 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, Pena emerged as runner-up.
