Who Is Ian Hislop?

Ian Hislop is a British media personality, satirist, writer, and editor of the magazine Private Eye.

Born on born July 13, 1960, Hislop has anchored many radio and television programmes and has chaired the BBC quiz show Have I Got News for You since it began in 1990.

Hislop first appeared on TV in 1983, on the Channel 4 chat show Loose Talk.

As a BBC 4, host, he revolves around topics such as the Beeching Axe and the role of the Poet Laureate.

Since 2008, Hislop has held the record of having “the second-highest audience for any BBC Four programme, and the highest for a documentary, with 1.3 million viewers.”

In 2017, he won the London Press Club’s print journalist of the year award.

Hislop, together with Private Eye journalists Richard Brooks and Solomon Hughes, testified before the House of Commons Standards Committee in January 2022 regarding the behavior of MPs.
