During an interview with Ekow Koomson on The Chat on Citi TV, Kofi Kinaata, who was a talented footballer in his youth in Efiekuma, Takoradi, admitted that the inability to afford football boots posed a major obstacle in pursuing a football career.
“Money for boots was the main problem…but with music, you don’t need to buy a microphone before you can sing…You just sing then you pass it on to the owner.”

The accessibility of music, in contrast to the financial constraints of football, played a significant role in shaping the path of the “Susuka” hitmaker.

Despite enjoying a decade-long career in music and winning the prestigious Songwriter of the Year award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards three times, Kofi Kinaata has not yet released his album or EP titled “Kofi OO Kofi” until now.
Regarding his decision to release an EP, Kofi Kinaata stated, “I’m here because of the fans and the fans are the ones pestering me to release an EP or album.. Since it’s a team now and they’re my neck to release an album I decided to release it for them to stream”
“Kofi OO Kofi” was initially set for release on April 15 but has been rescheduled to either May 3rd or May 10th. In the meantime, Kofi Kinaata has released his new single “Efiakuma Broken Heart.”
