I did not lie, I’m 24 years – Yaw Dabo dismisses “football age” rumors

Yaw Dabo, a Ghanaian actor and football team owner, has addressed age concerns after announcing that he is 24 years old in an interview with Spanish media Marca, which has since gone viral.

Many Ghanaians have disregarded Dabo’s claim of being 24 years old, believing that he used his “football age.”

In an interview with Wontumi TV, the small actor addressed age-related controversies.

He initially stated that he intended to lie, but changed his mind when he realized he was on a mission in Europe to garner support for his football academy, which required him to maintain integrity and candor at all times.

When the interviewer, a journalist from the sports media portal Marca, questioned Dabo his age, he stated he hesitated. During his indecision, he decided to tell the truth about his age.

Dabo said:

“When the white man asked me about my age, I did not want to mention it. If you watched the video, I was a bit hesitant, I wanted to change my age but I reconsidered my decision because I was there to get help for my club.

“Some of these foreigners like truth and loyalty so I decided to say I am 24 years. The interviewer then said, ‘respect, respect’, and from there, we continued with the interview.”

Dabo recently returned from a European tour where he visited several high-profile clubs, including PSG, Ajax, Real Madrid, and Dortmund.

So, Yaw Dabo is really 24 years old.
