Hugh Douglas, the son of former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Hugh Douglas, died in an automobile accident outside Atlanta in September 2023.

Hugh Douglas’ son Hugh was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday, September 4 afternoon near East Point, Georgia, according to Morehouse College.

Hugh and his flatmate Christion Files Jr. were set to graduate from Morehouse College in 2025. A Georgia State Patrol representative verified that a vehicle collided with a power pole and overturned, killing the two people inside.

“During these difficult times, we must come together as a community to remember and celebrate the lives of Hugh and Christion,” Morehouse said in a statement.

“They leave a legacy of excellence, passion, and dedication that will continue to inspire us all. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of Hugh and Christion. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this incredibly challenging time.”

Hugh Douglas also shared a gut-wrenching tweet seemingly mourning his son. He wrote:
