Card made only a few starts as a freshman at Texas, and it wasn’t until the 2021 season’s opening that he was designated the starting quarterback. Casey Thompson eventually replaced Card as the starter. He took over for an injured Quinn Ewers in three games during the 2022 season.
For his junior redshirt season, he switched to Purdue. Card made his entrance into the transfer portal public on November 29, 2022. On December 26, 2022, Card tweeted his Purdue commitment.
