Hubert Ginn was born in Georgia in 1947. He played high school football at Tompkins (Savannah) and college football at Florida A&M.

Ginn primarily played as a running back for nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL) from 1969 to 1978.

Ginn was selected by the Miami Dolphins as 211th overall pick, in the 9th round of the 1970 NFL draft.

After three seasons with the Dolphins, the two-time Superbowl champion was traded to the Baltimore Colts, where he played for one season. Afterwards, he made a comeback to the Dolphins and played for another one season.

Ginn joined the Oakland Raiders in 1976, and remained with the team until his retirement in 1978.

He had played in a number of Championship games including the AFC Championship.

Ginn died from an undisclosed cause on September 21, 2023, at age 76. He is survived by a daughter and two grandsons.
