Howard Hubbard accusations: Did Howard Hubbard abuse minors?

Late Roman Catholic prelate Howard Hubbard, when he was alive, had denied all allegations of sexual assault levelled against him.

Hubbard had been accused of sexually abusing young males on three different occasions, but there were no evidences to prove the allegations.

During his time as Bishop, Hubbard had metted out disciplinary actions to a number of priests over allegations of child sexual abuse.

He had also apologized on behalf of the diocese for the slow response to these allegations.

About Howard Hubbard

Howard Hubbard was Bishop of the Diocese of Albany in New York from 1977 to 2014.

The American-born cleric formerly held the position of chairman for the Committee for International Justice and Peace within the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

He was also a member of the Subcommittees for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and the Church in Africa.

He additionally served on other national bishops’ committees on “Human Values, Marriage and the Family, Communication, Laity and North American College.”

Hubbard resigned officially in 2014, and was succeeded by Bishop Edward Scharfenberger.

He passed on in 2023, after being hospitalized for a heart attack.
