Around 2 am on that tragic night, Aleena left a bar on Ilford High Street, beginning her journey up Cranbrook Road towards Valentines Park.

Simultaneously, McSweeney, who had been ejected from a bar for harassing staff, approached several other women in the vicinity. At 2:17 am, Aleena became the target of McSweeney’s violent attack on Cranbrook Road.

Discovered collapsed on a driveway, she was struggling to breathe, her body bearing the weight of more than forty injuries. The assailant had subjected her to a relentless nine-minute beating, leaving her in a dire state.

Emergency services responded swiftly, providing over an hour of medical treatment to stabilize Aleena. Despite their efforts, she was eventually taken to the Royal London Hospital. Tragically, Aleena succumbed to her injuries that morning, leaving a community in shock and mourning the loss of a promising young life.
