Smith made his List A debut on 16 January 2015 in the 2014–15 Regional Super50 tournament.[2] He made his Twenty20 debut for Jamaica Tallawahs in the 2017 Caribbean Premier League on 8 August 2017. He made his first-class debut for Jamaica in the 2017–18 Regional Four-Day Competition on 7 December 2017.
In May 2018, Smith was selected to play for the Trinidad and Tobago national cricket team in the Professional Cricket League draft, ahead of the 2018–19 season. In November 2019, he was named to Trinidad and Tobago’s squad for the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament
