Plaxico Burress is a retired footballer who played as a wide receiver for 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL).

Burress was born on August 12, 1977, in Norfolk, Virginia, United States, and played high school football at Green Run high school, and college football at Michigan State.

In 2000, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers as eighth overall in the first round of the NFL Draft.

He had played with the Steelers for five seasons, and went ahead to join the New York Giants, where he played for three seasons, as a top receiver.

During his time with the Giants, he caught the game-winning touchdown during Super Bowl XLII, where they were matched against the New England Patriots.

Burress additionally played for the New York Jets, and made a comeback to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012 and played for another one season.

He had retired with a career statistics of 553 receptions, 8,499 receiving yards, and 64 receiving touchdowns.
