Royber Adrian Salinas was born on October 4th, 2001 in Guarenas, Venezuela. Salinas has struck out nearly 3/4 of the batters he has faced this season (or a 72.7 K%). Crazy numbers for even a reliever. But ridiculous numbers for a starter.

Royber Salinas, 21, registered an overall 3.55 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 175/63 K/BB ratio in 109 innings this past summer between Low-A Augusta and High-A Rome. The swing-and-miss upside is intriguing, but that walk rate has to be reined in considerably. Call him a worthwhile project for Oakland.

Atlanta’s signing of Royber Salinas in 2018 out of Venezuela didn’t make headlines, but since coming to the Braves system he has been a consistent strikeout machine. After a decent 2019 season in the Dominican Summer League he came stateside for the 2021 season and took the Florida Complex League by storm.

Salinas struck out 49 batters in 25 1⁄3 innings though he struggled with high walk and home run rates. He made three starts for Augusta in 2021 and had a 0.64 ERA with 18 strikeouts and 8 walks in 14 innings.
