How much did Seann William Scott get paid for American Pie?

Seann William Scott is an American actor, comedian, and producer, best known for his portrayal of the character Steve Stifler in the “American Pie” film series.

Although Seann William Scott earned his big break in the 1999 teen sex comedy “American Pie” as Steve Stifler, the 46-year-old was only paid a pittance for the film that launched his career.

He disclosed on the Rick Eisen Show in July 2023 that he only received $8,000 for the entire film, which grossed $235 million at the box office and has since become a cult masterpiece.

On the show, Scott was asked if it was true that “American Pie” was his first big role and how he was only paid a four-figure amount. “I think so, yeah, because I remember afterward I bought a used Thunderbird for like $5,000 or maybe $6,000, I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, baby,’” he said.

“I don’t know what happened to the other $2,000 because I ended up having to work at the LA Zoo as a churro guy, so maybe it was even less than $8,000,” he explained.

Scott has also starred in several movies in the “American Pie” franchise including the 2001 sequel as well as “American Wedding” (2003) and “American Reunion” (2012).
