Earlier, the France international had reportedly been close to joining Real Madrid on a free transfer as his contract with PSG expired this summer.
Mbappe’s contract was due to expire on June 30, 2022 and he had been heavily linked with a move to 13-time European Champions Real Madrid.
According to Sky Sports, PSG are understood to have offered Mbappe a pay package worth £4m a month, double his current terms, making him the highest earner in the game.

An extension would also secure an incredible signing-on figure in the region of £100m, and includes concessions over image rights as well as bonuses for goals, Ballon d’Or honours, and Champions League success.

According to reports, Real Madrid were willing to pay €230m to sign Mbappe on Deadline Day last summer and were also ready to give Mbappe a signing-on fee of £110m and wages of £20m-a-year after tax.
However, PSG, owned by Qatar Sports Investments rebuffed Real Madrid’s offer.
