Who Was Bill Kenwright?
Bill Kenwright was a West End theatre producer, film producer, and chairman of Everton Football Club for two decades.
Kenwright carved his path as one of the United Kingdom’s most successful theatre producers.
Kenwright’s contributions to the world of theater were vast and exceptional. “Blood Brothers,” a long-running West End hit, stands as one of his crowning achievements.

Another jewel in his crown was the record-breaking UK tour of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” showcasing his commitment to bringing the magic of theater to communities far and wide.

Kenwright graced the West End with the likes of “Whistle Down the Wind” at the Palace Theatre and the gripping “Festen” both in London and on a UK tour, even taking Broadway by storm.
“The Big Life,” “Elmina’s Kitchen,” “Scrooge – The Musical,” “The Night of the Iguana,” “A Few Good Men,” and “A Man For All Seasons” were just a few of his many contributions.
His passion for theater also led to UK tours of classics like “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Tommy,” “Tell Me on a Sunday,” and “This is Elvis.”
Kenwright received numerous prestigious awards during his lifetime.
Tragically, Kenwright’s life was cut short by liver cancer. Although he underwent surgery in a valiant effort to combat the disease, complications arose, leading to his untimely passing on 23rd October 2023.
