Keyontae Johnson has only one season of eligibility remaining after playing in three seasons at Florida from 2018 to 2021.

On August 20, 2022, Keyontae Johnson committed to Kansas State. Johnson was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year. He had previously played for the Florida Gators.

Keyontae Johnson originally attended Norview High School, however, he transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida before his junior year.
As a senior at Oak Hill Academy in Wilson, Virginia, Keyontae Johnson scored at least 18 points in 19 of Oak Hill’s games.
Keyontae Johnson averaged 13.7 points and 10 rebounds during the 2019 SEC men’s basketball tournament.
On February 26, 2020, Keyontae Johnson scored a career-high 25 points to go with 11 rebounds in an 81–66 win against LSU. Keyontae Johnson was named first-team All-SEC as a sophomore.
On March 5, 2022, Keyontae Johnson received a standing ovation after being announced as the honorary starter on Senior Day against Kentucky.
