Jim Boeheim is an American former college basketball coach who was the head coach of the Syracuse Orange men’s team of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) from 1976 until 2023.

Jim Boeheim has led the Orange to ten Big East regular season championships, five Big East tournament titles, and 34 NCAA tournament appearances, including five Final Four appearances and three national title game appearances.
In those games, the Orangemen lost to Indiana in 1987 on a last-second jump shot by Keith Smart, to Kentucky in 1996, and to Kansas in 2003, with All-American Carmelo Anthony leading the way.

Jim Boeheim served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic teams that won gold medals in 2008, 2012 and 2016, and the World Cup in 2010 and 2014.
After leading Syracuse to an unexpected 30-5 record, he was named Naismith Coach of the Year in 2010.
On December 17, 2012, Boeheim joined Bob Knight and Mike Krzyzewski as the third coach in NCAA men’s basketball history to reach 900 wins. On March 19, 2021, Boeheim became the first men’s coach in six decades (the 1970s-2020s) to win an NCAA Tournament game.
