Roger Clemens, a retired American professional baseball player, announced his retirement from baseball on three different occasions throughout his career.

Roger Clemens first retired from baseball after the 2003 season, during which he played for the New York Yankees. He had a successful season, winning the American League Cy Young Award and helping lead the Yankees to the World Series
However, Clemens’ retirement was short-lived. In January 2004, he signed a one-year contract with the Houston Astros, his hometown team. He went on to have a successful season, winning 18 games and leading the Astros to the National League Championship Series.

After the 2005 season, Clemens once again announced his retirement from baseball. This time, he was more definitive in his decision, saying that he was “99.9% sure” that he was done playing. However, he once again changed his mind and signed with the Astros mid-season in 2006.
Roger Clemens’ final retirement came after the 2007 season, during which he played for the New York Yankees. He had a solid season, but he was plagued by injuries and struggled at times. He announced his retirement in early 2008 and has not played professional baseball since.
