Dame Judi Dench, a British actress, widely regarded as one of Britain’s best actresses has won 1 Oscar throughout her career.

Dame Judi Dench won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Queen Elizabeth I in the romantic comedy Shakespeare in Love (1998).  She has received five Best Actress nominations and three Best Supporting Actress nominations.

Her other Oscar-nominated roles were for Mrs Brown (1997), Chocolat (2000), Iris (2001), Mrs Henderson Presents (2005), Notes on a Scandal (2006), Philomena (2013) and Belfast (2021).

In addition to the Academy award, Dame Judi Dench has received a Tony Award, four television BAFTA Awards, six film awards, and seven Laurence Olivier Awards.

She holds the record for the most acting majors won across all six American and British events, with eighteen wins and 52 nominations.

Other notable awards include two Golden Globes, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and ten critics’ choice awards. She has received 55 competitive awards from 203 nominations in her career.

She has also received ten honorary awards, including the Special Olivier Award for lifetime achievement and the BAFTA Fellowship.
