British actor, Adeel Akhtar has two BAFTA awards out of three nominations. In 2015, he starred in Channel 4’s Utopia as Wilson Wilson and bagged a nomination for BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor.

He was the first non-white actor to win BAFTA Award for Lead Actor in 2017. He won the BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Role in the 2023 ceremony for his role in Sherwood as Andy Fisher.

Akhtar started his career in 2010 when he starred in Four Lions by Chris Morris. Some of the movies and tv shows he featured in during the early stages of his career include The Angelos Epithemiou, The Dictator, Pan, and more.
He also starred in the American romantic comedy film The Big Sick and played the role of the protagonist’s brother, Naveed. He also played in the BBC series The Night Manager.
Akhtar plays the role of BBC Three series Back to Life which returned for its second season in 2021.
