Before separating in 2010, Sam Mendes and Kate Winslet had been married for seven years. Mendes and Kate were almost inseparable as Hollywood’s star couple before their split.

Sam Mendes and Kate Winslet married in 2003, two years after meeting when Mendes approached the actress about starring in a play at the Donmar Warehouse, where he was artistic director at the time.
They married on a whim while on vacation in Anguilla, according to the actress.
Joe, the couple’s son, was born in December 2003, and Mendes was also the stepfather of Mia, Winslet’s daughter from her first marriage who is also an actress.

Mendes then went on to date actress Rebecca Hall for two years before separating from her in 2013. Mendes is currently married to Alison Balsom.
Winslet, who was previously married to filmmaker Jim Threapleton before marrying Mendes, is now married to Richard Branson’s nephew Edward Abel Smith.
