Igor Shesterkin has been in the NHL for nine years now. Igor was named an All-Star for the first time in his career and was selected to participate in the 2023 NHL All-Star Game on February 4, 2023, in Sunrise, Florida.

Igor Shesterkin did not score a goal. In earning his first All-Star Game selection, Shesterkin becomes the seventh goaltender in franchise history alongside Chuck Rayner, Gump Worsley, Ed Giacomin, Gilles Villemure, Mike Richter and Henrik Lundqvist to be selected to participate in the All-Star Game.

Igor Shesterkin made his professional and KHL debut midway through the following 2013–14 season. Shesterkin was selected in the fourth round, 118th overall, by the New York Rangers on 28 June.
