The “Complicated” singer, who previously married Nickelback star Chad Kroeger and Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley, said she’d had her heart broken multiple times before finding Mod Sun, and had all but given up on romance after a particularly horrible split.
They made their red carpet debut as a couple at the MTV Video Music Awards in September.

Mod Sun wished the singer a happy birthday on Instagram later that month, calling her his sweetheart and “the love of my life” in an emotional statement.
The pair announced their engagement on Instagram on Thursday, March 27 in Paris.
