Jose Aldo is a retired Brazilian professional mixed martial artist who last competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the Bantamweight division.

Aldo boasts of one of the longest UFC title reigns in history. His reign lasted 1848 days and he won 18 fights in a row.
Aldo started by fighting for the WEC and became their Featherweight Champion, he retained this title as the WEC merged with the UFC.
Despite having one fight remaining on his UFC contract, he announced his retirement on September 18, 2022, the same day as the birth of his son.

He was officially granted his release and is free to pursue other opportunities.
Aldo has the most wins and knockouts in UFC and WEC featherweight history; he has landed a total of 691 significant strikes in the UFC and the WEC.
Aldo is known primarily for his Muay Thai style striking and leg kicks, coupled with defensive wrestling.
He holds a black belt in Brazilian native Catch wrestling style Luta livre and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and has also trained Muay Thai with Dutch shootboxer Andy Souwer.
