Aldo was named Sherdog’s 2009 Fighter of the Year and in Sherdog’s April 2017 pound-for-pound ranking, he was called “the greatest featherweight in mixed martial arts history.”
Aldo became the first UFC Featherweight Champion following the UFC/WEC merger and as mentioned earlier, hs is widely considered as one the best mixed martial artists of all-time, and as the greatest featherweight ever.
As of August 23, 2022, he was ranked #6 in the UFC bantamweight rankings.
