The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is an upcoming American science fiction movie and an adaptation of the 2020 novel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins.
The film serves as a prequel to the original “Hunger Games” trilogy, and is set 64 years before the events of the first book, during the 10th Hunger Games.

The story follows the life of a young Coriolanus Snow, who later became the tyrannical President of Panem.

Coriolanus Snow is a privileged 18-year-old student at the Capitol’s Academy, who lives in a poor neighborhood with his grandmother, followingthe loss of his family’s fortune in the war.
He becomes a mentor for the 10th Hunger Games, where he is assigned to mentor the female tribute from District 12, a talented singer named Lucy Gray Baird. Coriolanus also sees this as an opportunity to regain his family’s wealth and status.
As the Games proceed, Coriolanus and Lucy Gray form a close bond, but as the Games’ brutality heightens, Coriolanus is forced to confront the true nature of the Capitol’s power and the violence it inflicts upon the districts.
Meanwhile, the Capitol is facing a rebellion led by the districts, and the Games are seen as a way to distract and subjugate the population.
As the Games come to an end, Coriolanus is forced to make a choice between his loyalty to the Capitol and his love for Lucy Gray.
The story is portrayed by an ensemble of a fan-favourite casts such as Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, and Viola Davis, and will be released on November 17, 2023.
