The Liv Golf Tour is a competitive golf tour that will compete with the PGA Tour. The first LIV Golf event started on 9 June 2022, at the Centurion Club, near London, England.

One difference between LIV and PGA is the total rounds played.  The LIV Golf schedule is only three rounds whilst the PGA Tour has four rounds of golf.

Most PGA Tour tournaments have over 100 golfers, and the four-round format allows for an easy cut halfway through the tournament.

With LIV Golf, such is not the case. Because there are only 48 golfers and three rounds, all golfers will participate from the start of the first round through the end of the third, unless they withdraw.

In addition, the payout system is different. The purses in LIV Golf events will exceed those on the PGA Tour, and the small field guarantees that everyone will receive a slice.

Golfers who do not cut PGA Tour events are not compensated for their participation. Golfers at LIV Golf are guaranteed a part of the prize pool simply by entering.

LIV is pronounced like the word “give.” LIV is for 54, the number of holes each player will play in each event’s three-round format.
