Tyson Bagent played collegiate football for Shepherd University before becoming the quarterback for the Chicago Bears in the NFL.
Bagent was born and raised in Martinsburg, West Virginia, and attended Martinsburg High School, where he was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year.

In addition, on December 3, 2022, Bagent threw his 159th touchdown pass in a 48-13 victory, breaking the previous record of touchdown passes across all NCAA divisions.

As a freshman, Bagent started at quarterback for the Shepherd Rams and was selected first team All-Mountain East Conference (MEC) after completing 253 of 387 pass attempts for 3,029 yards and 29 touchdowns. He received second team all-PSAC East honors, Shepherd’s newest athletic conference.

How good is Tyson Bagent?

In his final season at Shepherd, Bagent threw for 4,580 yards and 41 touchdowns, finishing his collegiate career with 17,034 passing yards and 159 touchdowns. His NFL career didn’t exactly get off to that kind of start for him; in the losing effort, he completed 83 passes for 83 yards and one interception.
