João Palhinha is a well-rounded defensive player, a fantastic tackler, and averaged 3.3 tackles per 90 in Primeira Liga. He plays for Premier League club Fulham and the Portugal national team as a defensive midfielder.

On loan to Braga, João Palhinha appeared in 76 competitive matches during his spell, helping to a third-place finish in 2019–20. He scored the game’s only goal against Benfica for the club’s first win at that opposition in 65 years.
