Pedro Martnez is a Dominican-American former Major League Baseball (MLB) starting pitcher who played for five teams between 1992 and 2009, including the Boston Red Sox from 1998 to 2004.

Earlier in his career, Pedro Martinez’s fastball was consistently clocked in the 95 mph (153 km/h) range, but his fastball slowed in later years.
His fastball topped out in the 88-89 mph (142-144 km/h) range in many games, but he could still throw a mid-90s fastball on occasion.
Martnez’s pitches included a tailing fastball, an outstanding changeup that moved left-handed hitters away from him, and a hard curveball.

His fastball and curveball are regarded as among the best of their kind, and his changeup is regarded as one of the best of all time.
Martnez also threw from a low three-quarter position, which effectively concealed the ball from batters, who commented on how difficult it was to pick up Martnez’s delivery
Pedro Jaime Martnez was one of the best starting pitchers of all time, winning three Cy Young Awards. Martinez pitched 430 innings in 1999 and 2000, allowing 288 hits, 597 strikeouts, 69 walks, and a 1.90 ERA.
