The length of a drag race is typically a quarter-mile (402 meters), although there are also classes and categories that race over longer or shorter distances. NHRA Drag Racing is often an all-day affair.

The time it takes a drag car to complete a quarter-mile race can range from under six seconds to over 20 seconds, depending on the performance of the car and the conditions of the track.

It is important to note that drag racing is a highly competitive and demanding sport that requires specialized equipment and training. Drivers must have a high level of skill and knowledge in order to safely operate a drag car and achieve maximum performance.
