Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo is one of them. She is renowned for the gritty, grunge-influenced pop music she creates. Tremblebee is a rock group she founded in 2006. Following its dissolution, Lo pursued a career as a songwriter and signed a publishing contract with Warner/Chappell Music in 2011. She achieved fame as a songwriter by working with producers Alexander Kronlund, Max Martin, and Xenomania, recording and distributing her own songs on their own.

Lo has contracts with Polydor, Island, and Universal Music in 2013. Her debut album, Queen of the Clouds, which debuted at number 14 on the US Billboard 200 list in October 2014, helped her gain recognition the following year. Because of her fondness for lynxes (singular: “lo” in Swedish), her godmother gave her the nickname Tove Lo, which she has used as her stage name ever since she was three. “There was this lynx at a zoo named Tove that I completely fell in love with,” she said.
