Did Tom Murphy dislocate his shoulder?
In June 2022, there were reports that Tom Murphy was set to undergo season-ending surgery to repair damage from tearing in the rotator cuff and labrum of his left shoulder. He had been battling issues related to a left shoulder for years; either a complete or partial dislocated shoulder.

“He tried to do everything he could to get back. He did a number of different treatments to try to get back and going. It just wasn’t taking. It was time for him to shut it down, which is hard for him,” Mariners Manager, Scott Servais said in an interview.
“It’s hard for him and it’s hard for us. He means a lot to our team and what he does behind the scenes, even when he’s not playing to help our pitchers and catchers out. The biggest thing is he’s got to get healthy, and we’ll get back after that,” he added.
