How did the Cubs get Pete Crow-Armstrong?

American professional baseball outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong was traded to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for Javier Báez and Trevor Williams by the Mets on July 30, 2021.

After joining the Cubs, he was assigned to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans of the Low-A Carolina League to begin the 2022 season

In late May, he was promoted to the South Bend Cubs of the High-A Midwest League.

Pete Crow-Armstrong was chosen to represent the Cubs in the All-Star Futures Game in 2022.

He was voted one of the three finest defensive outfielders in the minor minors in 2022, earning him a MiLB Gold Glove.

Crow-Armstrong was invited to the Cubs’ spring training camp on February 6, 2023, as one of 32 non-roster players. To begin the 2023 season, he was optioned to the Tennessee Smokies of the Double-A Southern League.

He began the 2023 season as the Cubs’ top prospect and the MLB’s sixth-ranked outfielder prospect. He was chosen to play for the Cubs in the 2023 All-Star Futures Game.

Crow-Armstrong was called up to the Major League Chicago Cubs from Triple-A Iowa on September 11, 2023, after posting a.876 on-base plus slugging in the 2023 Double-A and Triple-A minor league seasons.
