How did Selma Archerd die?

Selma Archerd, a fixture at Hollywood events for many years alongside her longtime Variety columnist husband, Army Archerd, passed away at the age of 98. Numerous reports confirm her death on December 14 in Los Angeles.

Throughout her 27-year career in television and film, Archerd predominantly played background roles, contributing to an extensive list of appearances. Notably, she portrayed a hostage in the 1988 film “Die Hard” and had a recurring role as Nurse Amy in Fox’s 1990s soap opera “Melrose Place.”

Archerd’s presence extended to various movies and TV shows, including “The Brady Bunch,” “Serpico,” “Lethal Weapon,” “Lethal Weapon 3,” “Fun with Dick and Jane,” “Can’t Stop the Music,” “Mommie Dearest,” and “Scrooged,” among numerous other credits.

Selma and Army Archerd were regulars on the Hollywood social scene for decades during their 39-year marriage. Army Archerd passed away in 2009 at the age of 87.

Survived by two sons, James Rosenblum and Richard Rosenblum, and a grandson, Ryan Rosenblum, the family has requested that donations in Archerd’s memory be made to the Exceptional Children’s Foundation, based in Culver City, California.
