During the game with the New England Patriots, Saivion Smith was lined up against tight end Hunter Henry. The ball was snapped, and Smith ran into Henry, hitting helmets but unfortunately, he hit the ground and remained motionless.

Smith sustained a neck injury in an attempt to tackle tight end Hunter Henry, during Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.
Smith fell to the ground, attracting the attention of the medical team. He was immediately whisked away in an ambulance.

Saivion Smith is an NFL player who plays as a cornerback for the Detroit Lions.

Born on November 5, 1997, Smith attended Lakewood High School, and had his college education at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Perkinston Campus.
He however, played college football at the University of Alabama.
His junior season saw him make 67 tackles, 5 interceptions and 4 fumble recoveries, and as a senior, he recorded 43 tackles, 1 pass defensed, 1 blocked punt and 3 blocked field goals.
Smith later earned the USA Today All-USA High School All-American honors.
In November, 2021, the San Francisco 49ers signed him in 2022, he got signed in by the Detroit Lions as a reserve.
Aside the Lions, Smith has played with a few other teams such as the Seattle Seahawks, the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Roughnecks, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers.
Smith currently weighs 91 kg and stands at 1.85m tall.
