Popular Mexican actor Manuel Ojeda (born Manuel Salvador Ojeda Armenta) who rose to fame in the early 1970s has died. He was born on 4 November 1940 in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico and died on August 11, 2022 in Dublin, Ireland at the age 81.

Ojeda’s death was first announced by Mexico’s National Association of Actors.
“The National Association of Actors deeply regrets the death of our partner Manuel Salvador Ojeda ‘Manuel Ojeda’, a member of our union,” they said in a tweet.
However, circumstances leading to his death has not been revealed.
Ojeda died two months to his 82nd birthday.

Ojeda was born in La Paz, Baja California Sur and studied acting at the “Instituto de Bellas Artes” (“Institute of Fine Arts”) and started his career in theatre.
He obtained roles in his first film in his mid-thirties and later participated in the first of his dozens of telenovelas with Televisa two years later.
He also took the role of Jimmy in P.D. Tu gato ha muerto, the Spanish language production of P.S. Your Cat Is Dead in 1983.
From 2005 to 2006, he was part of the cast of the telenovela Alborada.
Ojeda had an illustrious career, starring in over 200 films. However, he is best known for the role he played as the villain Zolo, in the Hollywood film Romancing the Stone.
Ojeda was also seen in Fuego en el mar, Salón México, and El infierno de todos tan temido, Corazón guerrero, and Enemigo íntimo.
