In 1984, feeling the need for a name that truly encapsulated their essence, frontman Mille Petrozza discovered “Kreator.”

This dark and evocative name, a play on “creator” with a mythical German folklore reference to a demon, perfectly mirrored their aggressive thrash metal style.
