After enrolling at the Victoria University of Wellington for the Bachelor of Arts program, Karl left to pursue a career in acting after one year.
In 2007, Karl Urban starred in the Viking adventure Pathfinder. Karl Urban had a cameo as a stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. Karl Urban had his first Hollywood role in the 2002 horror film Ghost Ship.
In January 2015, Karl Urban replaced Michael C. Hall as the main antagonist in the 2016 remake of Pete’s Dragon. Urban serves as a celebrity ambassador for the disadvantaged children’s charity KidsCan.
