Josh was just 17-years-old at the time, with no recording experience, and was preparing for his studies at Carnegie Mellon.
Josh was then called to stand in for an ailing Andrea Bocelli at the rehearsal of a duet with Celine Dion, “The Prayer,” at the 1998 Grammy Awards.

Manager Brian Avnet and music producer David Foster were first “blessed” by Josh’s voice when they heard him on a CD, and they arranged for him to perform at former California governor Gray Davis’ inauguration. And Josh blew their minds with his awesome performance.
In addition to his performance with Celine in “The Prayer,” Josh is also known for his version of “What Child Is This,” the 1865 Christmas carol set to the tune of “Greensleeves.”
He included the track in his 2007 album “Noël,” which went platinum six times over. His most loyal and devoted fans are called “Grobanites”.
