Freddy Krueger created his claws himself in his boiler room hideout. He made them out of sheet metal, pipes, fishing knives, rivets, and an old leather work glove.

Freddy Krueger’s character was created by Wes Craven. The character first appeared in Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street where it was portrayed as the evil spirit of a child killer who had been burned to death by his victims’ parents.
In its storyline, Freddy Krueger murders his victims in their dreams causing their deaths in the real world as well. However, Freddy is pulled back into the real world with normal human vulnerabilities and can be destroyed.
In the film series, Freddy Krueger has encountered some reoccurring survivors like Nancy Thompson and Alice Johnson.
The American Film Institute ranked Freddy Krueger 40th on its “AFI’s 100 Years…100 Heroes & Villains” list.
