The highest-grossing Nollywood movie, ‘Omo Ghetto’ is set to be featured on popular movie streaming platform, Netflix, soon. The movie’s director who doubles as the main character, Funke Akindele Bello made this announcement on her social media page.

Omo Ghetto was released in December 2020 and became the highest-grossing movie in Nigerian of all time, shortly after. So far, it has accumulated a total amount of N636,139,120 from cinema views and others. It is part of the few Nollywood movies which did not get pirated by unauthorized sites and pages. It premiered in Nigeria, London, and Dubai only. Even though Covid-19 had hit heavily during the time of its release, it still managed to rake in hundreds of millions of Naira.

It is a gangster-comedy film co-directed by JJC Skillz alongside Funke Akindele. It also features stars like Akindele herself, Nancy Isime, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Thomas, Deyemi Okanlawon, and others. It is a sequel to the original film, ‘Omo Ghetto’ which was released in 2010.
