Henrik Lundqvist, often referred to by his nickname “King Henrik,” is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender from Sweden.
Lundqvist spent the majority of his professional career playing for the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Rangers in the seventh round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. After several successful seasons playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) with Frolunda HC, Lundqvist made his NHL debut with the Rangers in the 2005-2006 season.

Over his 15-year tenure with the Rangers, Lundqvist established himself as one of the top goaltenders in the league. He was known for his exceptional athleticism, quick reflexes, and ability to make acrobatic saves. Lundqvist was a seven-time finalist for the Vezina Trophy, awarded to the NHL’s best goaltender, and he won the award in the 2011-2012 season.
