Harry Shum Jr. is an American actor, dancer, choreographer, and singer.

He is most recognized for his appearances as Mike Chang on Fox’s Glee, Benson Kwan on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, and Magnus Bane on Freeform’s Shadowhunters.
Shum has been in Jon M. Chu’s Step Up 2 and Step Up 3D films since 2008. From 2009 until 2015, he played Mike Chang, a dancer who joins the glee club, in the Fox musical comedy-drama series Glee.
Shum played Brainiac 5 in DC’s animated feature Legion of Super-Heroes, set in the Tomorrowverse, in 2023.

Harry Shum Jr Ethnicity: What ethnicity is Harry Shum Jr?
Shum, the son of Chinese immigrants, was born in Limón, Costa Rica. His mother is a Hong Kong native, and his father is from Guangzhou, China.
They moved to Costa Rica, and Shum and his two older sisters were born there. Shum’s family relocated to San Francisco, California, when he was six years old.
